Karl earned a B.S. in Business Administration at Bentley College (Boston, USA) and Advanced Management Program from Harvard University (Cambridge, USA).
 
After several years working in European chemical/pharmaceutical companies (Ciba-Geigy and Hoechst) he worked in the iron & steel and petroleum sectors in Venezuela.

From 1988 until his retirement in 2006 he held different positions of responsibility in the automotive multinational Dana Holding Corporation, becoming President of Dana Europe in 1997 and member of the Worldwide Operating Committee.

Karl has been an instrumental person in the development and growth of Going, contributing his multinational skill set earned through his multiple working experiences throughout the world and applying them on many of the portfolio companies of Going. As with other members of the Board, Karl is a hands-on senior member of the Going team, involved and actively pursuing new objectives within the growth strategy of the Going portfolio of companies.

Today Karl remains an active board member in a number of companies within the automotive industry, including some within the Going portfolio.
